Lonnie

Lonnie is an Olive Baboon who was raised in a loving home and played with humans until he reached about 3 years old. Then he got too big to handle. Not knowing what else to do with him, he was put in a short, wooden, "closet" with a hole only about 8 inches in diameter. He was there for around 7 years. Lonnie had inadequate care. He was fed well and had some socializing but no exercise. It was an experience I'll never forget getting him out of there. He weighed 110lbs that day. Once Lonnie got here, it was easy to tell how happy he was to go outside and move around in some big cages. It took 2 years for him to gain confidence to climb just a foot over his head to get his own water. His disposition is unbelievable. He is one of the sweetest monkeys in here and one of the lucky ones too. He now weighs 65lbs.

Alex

Alex is a Hamadryas Baboon who was kept in a cage in the city. One day he got out, bit his owner real bad, and had run of the house terrorizing other animals. Animal Control had quite a job on their hands, standing outside, trying to dart him as he would pass by a window. Hours later, it was done.
